Shittyrobots™️ is a project by an anonymous Puerto Rican urban artist. The invasion of these charismatic and often mischievous robot characters started in 2012 in San Juan, Puerto Rico which remains a primary location for the artists work. Today the creations can be seen in highly-visible locations in France, Spain, Dominican Republic and United States. To date, the artist has produced 500+ robots collaborating with street art and graffiti legends such as Bué the warrior, Atomik, JC Rivera, Cope 2, Chris RWK, and more.
The beloved machines are usually placed in situational spots that create an interaction of art and landscape. Even though subject matter is usually themed and adapted to a particular current event and/or location, the projects main mission is to help humans escape monotony through igniting curiosity. Robots are the future, and the future belongs to the curious.
